Won't export as image sequence?
I'm trying to export a render as an image sequence by 1 frame.. which I do a lot since rendering as a poster messes up the AO... When I go to check where I exported it to, there's no file. Nothing. No image, no sound, no text, no anything. I don't know what's going on. It's the first time SFM has done this to me. I've alread tried restarting and the problem persists.. Anyone know what the hell is going on?

Check that the export file path is correct.

Aside from asking whether you're sure you haven't just messed up the filename in the exporter, how much time are you actually telling it to render?

My experience is that my machine won't save any frames if it's it's given identical start and end times, so I normally tend to export a very short time frame, usually a fiftieth of a second.

I looked. I store pretty much everything in downloads and put it somewhere else afterwards if I find it necessary.. There's nothing.

A window doesn't even pop up in SFM to show that it's rendering. I made the name of the file as simple as possible and still, nothing.

Yeah, I know. I did 0.000 - 1.000. Nothing, still.

In the case that it is an actual SFM error, check the console logs.

If there's no render window, then that to me suggests the file it's supposed to be saving to is invalid for some reason and therefore it's not trying to save at all. (Which I most often run into when trying to export an image from the viewport and forget to put a file type to go with the file name).

EDIT: Alternatively, it might be invalid image dimensions. You're sure you're launched in the right mode for your resolution?

I've also noticed that if you don't type the file extension (Ex: .png) then it won't save where I've specified it. Perhaps this is a similar problem you're having?

Image sequence renders are done via the export movies menu option. There is a box to select the The type of export, Movie, Image sequence or sound, then another box image type to export if you choose Image Sequence. Default is PNG. The name of the images is determined from the Outpath box. the default is C:\steam\steamapps\common\sourcefilmmaker\game\usermod\elements\sessions\session which will cause a sequence in the C:\steam\steamapps\common\sourcefilmmaker\game\usermod\elements\sessions folder with the first image called something like session0000.png then session0001.png and so on to the end frame number.

To change the filename you just have to change the last session reference in that default path.

Adding characters like @!#$%^ to the filename will cause SFM NOT TO produce files.

It seems to have fixed itself. My computer has been having a lot of graphics card issues recently.. That might've been it. Thank you for trying to help, though, guys!
What ive found is that if you change the name of the rendered scene or image it wont render at all using the original file name seems to work for me.
