Where can I find a flare particle?
I'm currently working on a Left 4 Dead animation, and I need a flare particle. I know there are flares in HL2, but I'm not sure where I'd find the actual particle.

Try looking in the hl2/particles folder, I'm pretty sure it's called "flare.pcf"...
If it's not in there, then it's probably in the ep1/particles or ep2/particles folders.

I didn't see it any of those folders. I checked them all except for ep1. I don't have an ep1 folder regardless of the fact that I have ep1 installed. I'll keep looking.

I found some flare particles in my workshop folder, however none of the fire/sparks work. Most likely because of TF2 (for some reason some of my TF2 particles aren't working properly in SFM), so I'm currently trying different fire particles, and if that doesn't work, I'll probably add the fire/sparks in with After Effects (I have 4 years of experience with Ae, so I'm sure it'll come out fine). Thanks for the help! :)

For what it's worth, I went hunting for this too, only thing I found was a "prop_flare.pcf" in the blackmesa/particles folder, but I never could get it to work right...

Sorry for sending you on that little "wild goose chase"... :steamhappy:
