I need to make the background completely black
Anyone know how i can achieve this?

Use the black_void map.

Well i'm using the Bioshock rapture map, i need a black background for a setting.

You might create black sky box textures then use sv_skyname (skyname) in console.

the other option is to the use the green screen panels with the black skin. or a texture panel with a black skin. place them behind.
