Most textures then usually fit in a models > etc > etc filepath that imitates the filepath to where the models are within the models folder. (Yes, usually including a "models", meaning it's usually SFM> Game> Mod > Materials> Models> Rest of filepath)
Things > materials > models > ???
and
tf > materials > models > ???
tf = comes with SFM by default
That saves needing to wait for SFM to load up, but if you don't have/use Crowbar, you could instead load the model in the Element Viewer with Override Materials enabled - opening a material category will show the file paths of said material.
Sorry, I can't check any of this myself, as I really don't know my way around the TF2 cosmetics and such*, other than to know that's a jumble of illogical filenames.
* Cosmetics in 1st person games just don't really bother me. (That said, in third person games, my gear had damn well better look good, regardless of what its stats are.)
Nowhere did they say there are any problems within Source FilmMaker. From what I can gather, they just want to know the file location of the textures.
