Adding grass to a "grassless" map
i have a scene where there is a lot of open area then in the back ground there is a masive forrest and the camera is focused at a character in the middle of the clearing and its a wider angle so i experemented with different methods of placing grass like particles mainly for a dynamic look but then i tried aranging a high poly grass model in a grid like pattern that didnt go well since the map has many small hills and the like and the particles don't light as far as i can tell since it is a 3d model for it and the scene requires a large sum of the grass to be lit and other parts not
ive tried barbels grass system and a different model from the same grass model i guess that was high poly but not as customizable and was 286 by something and grass particles that sway back and forth same as the barbels grass but didnt behave :c
so how can i add grass to a "grassless" map? mainly to give the viewer something to look at than the low quality grass texture thats at the bottem.

First off, please use some form of punctuation next time, that was really hard to read. I couldn't tell where one sentence stopped and the next started...

On to the grass problem, you might try this:

Yes, it's based on a forest, but the principles are the same for grass, rocks, etc.

No problem, did ya get a chance to try that out?
I've used it for making a forest, and it does a pretty decent job, if you follow the instructions... lol

There are adjustments that he mentions in the video for making it look more random and whatnot, you sometimes have to play around with them to get it to look right. Another thing that can affect the look is the model that you use in the process. If you pick a "crappy" model, then the effect will be crappy as well.

The whole point in this is to cut down on the number of actual models in a scene. The more models you have in a scene, the more resource-intensive it becomes.

Using particles to make forests no longer works properly, as SFM broke particles and light interaction.

That's kinda funny considering I just made a forest 2 days ago and it turned out pretty decent...

Really? Must be the map then. I remember it being broken.
