What does 'OC' mean?
I have seen the acronym OC used a lot throughout the workshop, discussions, etc. What is it, exactly?

Original Character.
Don't recommend sending one to the workshop.

A poor excuse to even call "original". Dishonor on you, dishonor on the fandom

Aye ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡° )
It stands for "Original Character"
This is a prime example of what an "OC" shouldn't be: http://i0.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/newsfeed/000/613/323/e2e.jpg

OC is so overused in fandoms lol my friend explicitly now uses "IP" for any of her creations because of it

It completely lost its ORIGINAL meaning :sans:

Lmao, well at least we have a good understanding of the nearly infinite definitions of "OC" :p

Yeah, I used to refer to my mascot as an OC, which she technically kind of is, but I realized that term was indeed a little too broad, let alone somewhat stigmatized.

Oh please, my OC is totally original rather than a reskin of pre-existing character.
Pipann Oct 23, 2016 @ 11:40pm
Personally, I simply refer to my characters as "characters". I haven't had a fan-made character in years. I was 14 and my fancharacter was the cringeworthiest combination of two different fandoms.

And I'm not going to tell you what it was

You'll have to backtrace my arteest history and go find it yourself
