New to SFM and can't even load a map...

Hello everyone
As title says I'm new to SFM, and having some problems.
After creating a new session, right click load map, sfm thinks for a while and than no maps are loaded.
It shows the "no map loaded!" message again

1. What map are you having this issue with, and does SFM do the same thing for every map you try to load, or just this map?
2. What are your PC specs, particularly your CPU, GPU and amount of RAM installed?

As Capt Fuzzy asks, what map? And also, if you try to load it twice in a row, does Source FilmMaker crash?

I've tried different maps, the last one I've tried is the one in the first video link by Pte Jack (cp_mountainlab.bsp)

My system is
AMD Ryzen 7 1700
Nvidia GeForce GTX1070
16GB ram DDR4

Seems to me that I read a while back that some of the "CP" maps won't load for some reason, but their "arena" versions will...
Try the "arena" version and see if it loads...

Unfortunately... or, well, I mean fortunately, only CP_Badlands fails to load like that. Though it crashes instead of just failing to load.
An older version of CP_Badlands will work without crashing, though. But again, this issue luckily only accounts for CP_Badlands, not other CP_ maps, while tnging did say it happens for CP_MountainLab too (and also just fails to load, without crashing).

tried arena_granary.bsp... same story, "no map loaded!"

Could you try to reboot Source FilmMaker, make a new session, click "Windows" > "Console" near the top-left, type "Clear" into the console and hit Enter to clear the text in it, attempt to load a map, then copy-paste everything the console says here? It's possible the console might show an error or such about what's going on.

I can't quite tell anything that's super wrong about that. All I can see is that it seems like the server closes instantly after having loaded the map or such. (By "server", I mean that when you load a map, you actually start hosting a LAN-only server that you then connect to. This happens in Team Fortress 2, other Source games (not sure about singleplayer-only ones, though), and also some other games (such as Minecraft). Then the server just "dies" instantly.)

Try to right-click Source FilmMaker in your Steam library (in the "Software" or "Installed" categories), choose "Properties" > "Local Files" > "Verify Integrity of Application Cache...", and wait for it to finish (which is when it says how many files will be re-acquired, not when it says 100%).

After that, allow Steam to download whatever it wants to download, then see if Source FilmMaker can load maps now. If it can't, please try recording a video of the exact events occuring from before trying to load the map until after it fails to do so, then upload the video somewhere and link to it.

Can it be that it was a problem with the firewall?
I've delated a rule in the firewall and now it works... but I have also done the "verify integrity thing"
