TGA files
when trying to export my third poster in sfm, i ran into diffuculty because no matter which file i choose, it always becomes a TGA file, and windows ten makes it so that you have to enter it through other programs such as internet explorer, microsoft word 2016, or microsoft paint. if anyone can help me, please put your suggestion as a comment. (yes, i have tried to convert the file)

Right-click the viewport, choose "Render Settings", set it up as you want, switch to the Clip Editor with the scene (non-"work") camera active, and stay still in time until the bottom-right sample counter loops back to "Sample 1 of X". Then click "File" > "Export" > "Image", and save it somewhere. Make sure to have ".png" (or ".jpg") at the end of the file-name!

Alternatively, at the last step, you can instead click "File" > "Export" > "Image to Clipboard", open an image editor (yes, even Microsoft's Paint), paste it, and then save it through the image editor.

SFM has a "quirk" where you have to make sure to add the file extension at the end of the image title or it won't export anything but a .tga...
If you want a jpeg, add .jpg to the end of the name, same with .png.

Example:
somename = wrong
somename.png = right
somename.jpg = right
