No, I don't believe so.

1. The original was called IFM and it was closely guarded and not too many people knew about it. IFM was linked to Portal. It was clunky, incomplete and extremely hard to use.
2. Then came SFM, this is the one we all know and love to hate. SFM is linked to TF2.
3. After Valve converted DOTA2 to the Source2 engine, they released a movie maker for it and was what we started calling S2FM.
It was officially called SFM Reborn and is part of the Dota2 tools set.
4. Then they released Alyx and also included a flavour of SFM for it. (This is the one I'm calling SFM2 and should not be confused with SFM Reborn (S2FM) mentioned above. The are different versions).
SFM2 is available through the ALYX toolset and even though Alyx is VR only, SFM2 does not require VR goggles. However to get SFM2 (at this time) I think you have to own Alyx to be able to access the tools.
Those are the 4 flavours of SFM that I know about.
Is Dota 2 free to play? does S2fm use same tools as sfm2? Which is better? I have to own Dota 2 to use the tools? I'm sorry if I'm asking a lot of questions but I've heard SFMs tools are hard to use and I don't know if I should use S2FM, SFM2, or SFM.
