Unmatched VTA Vertices
For the love of god, is there any way to import SFM models into Blender without getting the dreaded "unmatched VTA Vertices" issue that breaks all flexes? so annoying

Unmatched that VTA vertices object can just be deleted. The VTAs attach to the model when imported and are the flexes are available by selecting the object and using the shapekeys.

problem is....those unmatched VTAs break the flexes. i tried flexes on the model and there are deformities where the unmatched VTAs should have been matched. so yes i can delete the unmatched VTA object, but that doesn't fix the issue here.

Hi Supreme. Did you find a solution? I'm dealing with the same problem right now, but with a Garry's Mod smd-model. What would be "the other way round"? Like, how do I match unmatched VTA vertices? Why are these vertices unmatched? Do I have to assign them to a vertex group or to one of the Shape Keys?
I could deleted those vertices from the vta-file, but they are also part of a polygon (face). Any idea?

just decompile model with crowbar just to have ready .QC file for furhter compile
But when import model to blender use SourceIO addon because crowbar decompile is sadly sux

Thanks a lot, ZergSquad!!! I imported a model into Blender with SourceIO: no unmatched VTA vertices anymore! Even the materials / textures were imported! What a helpful addon! :steamhappy:

It worked perfectly to import the .mdl-model. With SourceIO, I did not get any errors (while I got some errors [unmatched VTA vertices] when importing .qc into Blender after having decompiled the .mdl with Crowbar first). --- B u t : How do I export the model from Blender, exporting to SMD or DMX? Therefore, I still need the Blender Source Tools addon, right?

Yes, Blender Source Tools is the way to go. If you don't know how to use it, look for Open3DLab tutorials about importing/exporting MDLs on YouTube.
