Source Filmmaker

Weird SFM beta instance opened while regular SFM is also opened
I had recently fixed a problem with my SFM which caused flickering back and forth from windows by disabiling auto hide engine window. This caused another window to open up which seems for the most part blank with some basic utility droptabs on the borders.
If I close it, then my regular SFM closes as well.
The name on my taskbar is "Source FIlmmaker [Beta]". This is probably a really easy question to answer but I couldn't find anything

EDIT: I checked the SFM beta properties and it says I'm opted out.
EDIT 2: Whenever I enter the game mode by pressing F11, the "beta" window became the game instance. After pressing F11 again, the window remained but exited out of game mode and returning to the form seen on the imgur link.

That's the "engine window" that you unhid to prevent viewport flickers.

I see. Is there any way to close it without closing the actual SFM interface? I can work around it, but it's just a bit annoying.

Yes. At the top-left of Source Filmmaker's main window, make sure that "Windows" > "Engine Window" > "Auto Hide Engine Window" is enabled.
(But seeing as you disabled that because that the viewport flickered, that's probably unfavourable.)
I have the same problem how can I close it?:tank:
I have the same problem too. this is called the Tool Mode. This, is a reminessence from the early days of SFM. It is actually in this window that Game mode is in. You can press F11 to see this. In my version, I have more than just "nothingness". I have the First logo from SFM, and the "Engine Viewport" too. This is also what keeps the real SFM alive. If you wanna close it, go to the top right where it says "Window", then press on "Default Layout." Thanks for having shared this with us.
