Game Mode for Non-TF2 Models?
So I saw a video on a channel from YouTube where they did a Machinima of the Left 4 Dead game. Basically, you're playing the game, but it's recorded in a way that after you've played it, you can use a camera to freely follow your playthrough like a movie. I remember a similar thing from the official tutorial where the guy used game mode for Team Fortress 2. So is it possible for Left 4 Dead? I want to record my movements because the walking animations are impossible to do. Especially if I want my characters to use weapons and use zombies as well. PLEASE HELP!!! :steamsad:

No, SFM is TF2 Based. You can only spawn TF2 characters and their standard Misc into GameMode. Also, you can only use the TF2 Base Weapons for the Characters. If you want to use custom stuff, you record the characters in their standard form using standard weapons. After you make your recordings you extract the models using the Create AnimationSets from Existing Elements feature and then you change out the stuff you want to on the models created from the recorded clip.

They probably made a "demo" of the gameplay in Left 4 Dead (or just had a dedicated real-time "spectator" player), and then made camera adjustments to the demo (or had the "spectator" player move around) within Left 4 Dead itself.

There's walk cycle animations you can sub to on the workshop. You can also take the walk cycle of another model, and puppet it to another using another workshop item. I'll send you the link in a min.

Now, I've never used this, so I can tell you how well it works, but I reckon it's worth a shot.
