How To Launch SteamVR's SFM?
As the title says, I have no idea how to use SteamVR's version of SFM. Wanted to check out environments and the like, been seeing it on Twitter.

I can't seem to find any information on how to actually use it, and when I see something about it, nobody ever actually answers the question, so I'm asking here.

Try SFM's discord. They've been talking about it a lot.

Yeah. They've been talking a lot about sfm vr and s2fm (due to hl:a).

Not sure, S2SFM has been around since 2015 I think? Either way, I found out how to launch. You need to install SteamVR, go to the workshop tools, and create a new addon. There should be an SFM icon at the top, similar to how you launch DotA 2 's SFM.

Problem is, I keep getting a runtime error when I launch the workshop tools.

I'm not really sure if it has workshop support. I know s2fm doesn't.

Steam VR has workshop support for environments. Those workshop tools is how you'd get to SFM, as you can see here https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/520485543126106125/685358816186990602/unknown.png (Not my image), but the tools themselves fail to launch because it tells me SteamVR runtime is out of date, even though it's a fresh install.

Strange....I'm not really familiar with the vr games, but can you try:

Verifying the game file

Deleting download cache

Making sure your c++ packages are up to date and not corrupted (just read this one in a quick google seach. there seems to be various threads about it. id link one, but im not sure which ones are good, as im not really familiar with the error, sorry :0)

From what I've heard, it's apparently possible to record tracked motion with your headset and controllers (Probably Vive trackers, too) and import it into that version of SFM. That would be incredibly handy for motion capture.

Yes, it was OSFM. We established this in comment #2.
