I keep crashing
I'm making my very first SFM poster and for no reasons, I keep crashing. I have no other software/game running in the background and I keep crashing, especially when I add cosmetics to my model.

My PC specs:
Motherboard: Asus Prime B360M-A
CPU: Intel Core i7-7700k
GPU: GeForce GTX 1080Ti 11GB
RAM: 16GB
SSD: 250GB
Hardrive: 2TB
OS: Windows 10
Screen resolution: 2560x1440

I hope someone can help me, please.

Please be as specific as possible about exactly what you were doing immediately before SFM crashed.

A large fraction of crashes in SFM are down to user error, as SFM, being a beta program, does not have the same safeguards against users doing things that crash the software as more refined programs.

I just downloaded the software today, then I launched it and started to make a poster. And at the moment where I was about to put a cosmetic to my model, it crashes. I think I did nothing wrong...
I made the file checking by going in the properties and all but nothing fixes it...

Well, welcome to the wonderful world of SFM. The program is full of very unique features, most of which will cause crashing. But, that aside, as you become more familiar with SFM, you'll quickly learn what allows it to be stable and what will cause it to just roll over and die.

As you have already posted the required system information, I can assure you that it's not being caused by system shortcomings. You're system far exceeds the minimum requirements. So, that cuts that out of the equation.

Next thing is you start a session and load a map, what Map? Some maps work flawlessly, others will smash the heck out of SFM.

Then we get down to Models. "Most" SFM stock models work fine, there are a few that can cause problems, SFM Workshop items are usually tried and tested, but they to when combined with other models can cause SFM to Crash... INSTANTLY. We won't even discuss Custom Models because your new. So the next question, is What models are you loading?

Then we come to saving a project. SFM does not accept wierd and reservered characters in the filename you give it. Things like %%% { [ my&file]}%%%.dmx will, guess what, yup, crash SFM or the file won't save. Only use standard letters, number and underscores in a filename.

Then we come to animations. Again, "most" sequences built into a model work in SFM, some don't. Result of using a corrupt sequence.... CRASH!

Another thing (and this usually happens to new users) is that SFM did not download correctly and has corrupt or missing files. Enough there to get 'er up and going, but not enough to keep 'er stable. If you only downloaded today, I would suggest validating the local application cache and see how many files are reacquired after the process finishes.

Materials and textures can (but not usually) cause a crash.

By now you should be asking, "What Doesn't Cause a Crash?" Try this, load a map called stage (stage is stable), then load your models and start posing. If SFM doesn't crash, add Misc items. If SFM remains Stable throughout the process, then it may have been the map you were originally using. If it crashes during posing, it is most likely the model, and so on.

Thanks for answering me!

The map I used is Hydro, a TF2 map.

The model I use is Engineer from TF2, and the cosmetics I want to put on him are already on the software, based on TF2.

The sesson name is "engie_session_blu.dmx.

Maybe I'll try another map, but if it doesn't work, I'll uninstall and install the software again. Thanks again!
