SFM assert.mdmp help (solved)
My question is. Is it safe to delete these sfm_assert_manynumbers.mdmp files? i have heard that its ok to delete Crash.mdmp files, but i havent heard anyone talk about assert.mdmp files. i have about 1 GB of assert.mdmp files so i want to know if i can delete them.

Yes. They should be information "dumps" at the time of Source Filmmaker crashing, to help debug the crashes, but that's not really useful for us when VALVe isn't updating the public version of Source Filmmaker anymore and have not released its source code.

Edit: You can always try moving them to a different folder outside of Source Filmmaker's installation, then move them back if problems arise or delete them if not.

sfm_assert_manynumbers.mdmp indicates SFM crashing many times, while the minidump (.mdmp) files can only be read after jumping through many hoops, only be understood by really intense computer geeks and can be safely be deleted, one should be checking into why SFM is crashing as many times as you have .mdmp files.

hey jack. your videos helped me a lot. anyway i have been using SFM for many years and never deleted these files so thats why there are many of them. i crash often when adding new models. if i scroll through them quickly, then SFM crashes.
