SFM for Mac, and why its not for the Mac
Of course there are websites saying you can get it through files n stuff, but thats not the case. In the download page it says we have it in our library already, but for Mac users thats a lie. Most valve games like Team Fortress 2, Portal, Left 4 Dead, and others work fine on the Mac because of their graphics and rendering. It says on the store page the requirements for Source Filmaker, and thats were the not avaliable for Mac thing comes from. If you read it for example: it needs 15 GB of storage, and idk how much the Mac can hold. Plus Valve made all their games and stuff on PCs/ Windows, so it makes sense.

What you have to remember is that SFM was made by Valve so they could make game trailers; the public release was never the point of it.

SFM does very little more than Valve needed for their trailers, and they never needed it to work on Mac or Linux. (And they never will - Source 1 is now an obsolete engine they're not making new games for).

As SFM was built on a pre-Mac/Linux-compatible version of Source, porting it is not trivial. All the modifications that were made would have to be redone on a more universal version of Source, which is pretty much impossible.
And given how small Steam's Mac/Linux user bases are compared to Windows users (In most hardware surveys, ~96% of Steam users are on Windows, compared to ~3% on OSX and ~1% on Linux), and as it's free to use, all that effort won't make them a single cent.

Given that even the (public) Windows version hasn't been updated in more than three years, Mac and/or Linux versions just aren't going to happen.

Yes I understand, but like I said there are ways around that through websites. And since Garry's Mod which is also used for forms of animation sometimes, is great for make users cuase it works on the Mac, but its not an amazing 3D software. Yes there are other 3D platforms on hte Apple Store on the Mac that mac users can use, but we all want that nice shinny Golden Saxxy. Which is why Valve should really think about that fact Mac users are left out of certain events and have no way around that. Course you can say BUY A WINDOWS/PC but its not simple.

I use Windows, so I don't know a lot about Apple products other than their limitations (such as this subject) but I do know that there are Windows "emulators" for Mac, that might allow you to run SFM.
I've seen mixed posts on how well they work, some saying they work great, others, not so much.
At any rate, that could be an avenue that you might want to explore...

Well being an owner the Mac runs perectly well with other games like what I listed above. But there is one website called wine that you can download it but its a very large process.

I know Mac runs games fine, but SFM is NOT a game, it's animation software...
Even in the Windows camps, people who've bought a 'gaming laptop' that runs their games great, have issues when trying to run SFM. It handles rendering much differently than most games do, and as such, if you don't have a good CPU and GPU, and atleast 6GB (preferably 8GB or higher) of RAM, you are really wasting your time, even on a Windows machine...

You can just use bootcamp, ofc you would need a windows iso or a usb installer. But you'd at least be able to boot windows on your mac. As a matter a fact I'm on a mac rn, but am using windows. So yeah, it works quite well if I do say so myself.
