Use screen capture software or simply hit the PrntScr button on your keyboard, then open MS Paint and paste and save it. You can then upload it to a site like Imgur[imgur.com] and post the link here or where ever you like...

file -> export -> poster or image. posters don't render some of the fx. images are restricted to the size of the render window. per default 720p. you can up the resolution using the sfm startup options in steam. put '-sfm_resolution 1080' in there.

i tried doing that, but no file is saved

Maybe you can try export Video ---- Image Sequence instead of Poster. For some unknown reason SFM may do nothing (especially the Playhead doesn't locate in first shot in Timeline) when you export Poster and Image.
