Using GCFscape

I am trying to open up various files at once with GSFscape, but it doesn't let me select multiple folders. How do I open lots of different folders?

If you mean you want to open tf2_misc_001.vpk, tf2_misc_002.vpk, et cetera at the same time, that's not how it works. Just open tf2_misc_dir.vpk, and that will then link to the other tf2_misc_XXX.vpk files automatically.


If you mean you want to select and extract "materials", "models", et cetera at the same time, you can click on "materials", then hold Ctrl when clicking on "models" to add "models" to the selection, and then you can extract them simultaneously afterwards once you've selected what you want to extract.

I want to open:

tf2_misc_dir.vpk
tf2_textures_dir.vpk
tf2_sound_misc_dir.vpk
tf2_sound_vo_english_dir.vpk

I am following this guide as I want to try get the allclass breakneck baggies and not just for scout http://store.steampowered.com

My problem is that I cant open all the above files at the same time

You're not supposed to open multiple VPKs in a single GCFScape instance. The guide shows 4 different instances of GCFScape, each with a different tf2_XXX_dir.vpk file open, but only a single tf2_XXX_dir.vpk file per instance of GCFScape.
