How do I reverse a sequence?
How do I make it so that a sequence animates backwards? Is it something I need to use in the Motion editor?

Hmm, I could be wrong on this, if so, I apologize, but I think this is something that you'd have to do forward, export the video, then import it into video editing software and reverse it that way...

That won't work for my needs, as there are both things moving forward, and things I want to move backwards at the same time onscreen.

Well, if you export just the part that you want to reverse as image sequence, you could do it that way and leave the rest as is...

Never mind, that wouldn't work either, after reading your reply a second time... :steamsad:

There's not really any practical way to reverse sequences. Theoretically a script could do it, but no-one's written that yet.

In the mean time, the best option is sampling the sequence and using it to build some graph editor keyframes, reversing the order.

Hmm, interesting idea.., I may have to try that and see what happens... :steamhappy:

could reverse the image sequance, turn it into an animated texture and apply it to a flat model. have it play in the background. *shrugs*

reverse timescale? has that been tried?

And how do I do that?

If you're looking for a proper tutorial, I haven't got one. What it comes down to is picking some keyframes out of the original animation and then either copying them or rearranging them into reverse order. It won't be identical, but no-one is likely to notice the difference.

If you go to the Graph Editor and make a keyframe for the entire model every single individual frame after importing the sequence, you should be able to select all of them (for example by clicking the leftmost one, then holding Shift while clicking the rightmost one) and then either use the Scale tool by selecting it and then dragging in the graphs or use the Scale tool's shortcut (holding Ctrl while right-clicking in the graphs) to scale the keyframes horizontally towards the left to play backwards. I don't know if there's a way to be certain it's exactly 100% speed in reverse, but you can get it fairly close if you try your best.
