SFM Directx 9.0 Shader Model 3.0 message
I have this message whenerver i run SFM, but yet i check my DXlevel, and it's DXlevel 12. Anyone know how to fix this problem? When I would place a light, it won't show the model's shadow

The shadows are actually there. Just adjust "shadowAtten" (plus "shadowfiltersize")

Just because you have DirectX 12 installed doesn't mean your graphics card is DirectX 12 compliant. What are your system specs?

Whaaa??
I think someone didn't watch the tutorials first :steamfacepalm:

That setting is a slider that appears when you select the light in the animation set editor.

Don't bother. OP asked the same issue at the Newbie's Guide thread he refuses to tell what his GPU or at least the brand of his GPU so I could help him with possible GPU driver issue instead continue whining why SFM keep showing that error and unable show the shadow properly. He's not going to tell us because he knows his PC is not good enough to run SFM well and expect a "miracle" solution in here. How uncooperative.

coulda googled the cpu on the intel ark site. it's a hd 620. that is a gt2 chip. it could work with a driver update. surely a lil low on ram. sfm will not run big things with just ~2.5 gig of ram available.

Thank you, you actually respond. Sorry but the iGPU like Intel UHD graphic chip such as that is incompatible with SFM and won't give you a decent graphics quality and performance. The DXLevel 12 or more doesn't matter because of that iGPU too weak to support that API.

So, about the shadow issue, this is pretty new to me. The shadow would work even with sh*tty GPU by default. You should want to adjust the shadowAtten and shadowfiltersize slider settings Mr.Elias mentioned and see if those make any difference. Perhaps a screenshot would be nice in case you might miss something or the issue is different than we assume so far.
