engine error CUtIRBTree overflow
I read a bunch of posts here saying that you should remove some workshop addons to get this fixed.

However I've tried deleting my workshop folder multiple times and then only downloading a few or NO addons when you get the prompt on startup in sfm. But ye I still get the error while rendering. I used sfm for the first time in a while yesterday and didnt have any problems. It was today it started happening after downloading 1 addon with a bunch of eye textures, which i deleted later.

any help is appreciated

edit: seems like it could have something to do with too many override materials also, only had 3 overriden materials tho but i tried removeing 1 of them, waiting for result

edit 2: it worked when i removed override materials from my scout mdl model. Id still be gratefull if someone could explain why this is the case, would I not have this problem if I used hwm models?

wont it accomplish the same thing as long as i untick the boxes for downloading the workshop items after restarting sfm? Anway i probably had 30 different items.

30 items in total, or attempting to download at once?

im subscribed to like 30 workshop creations, but as I said I removed my workshop folder which should mean I launched sfm without any items

Deleting the workshop folder isn't really the same thing. However, 30 workshop items isn't enough to cause problems like that, from my experience. Do you have any other custom assets loaded?

If you did a factory reset, then yeah, there shouldn't be anything there. How many DLC do you have installed?

Hmm...I'm not sure. I'm kinda baffled here. How big was the material override (in MB)?

I can't guarantee the cause was the same, but I had something like that happen to me recently. I had somehow messed up a value in a material override, and the console kept spewing the same error about being unable to load the texture every single tick, progressively filling SFM's memory footprint, eventually crashing with CUtIRBTree overflow error. Once I tracked down the faulty model and fixed the override, it stopped.

So, if something like that happens again, look for repeating error messages in the console and the memory counter constantly going up, and try removing material overrides on various models (or deleting the models) one by one to find the culprit.

I’m having the same damn error crash my game of L4D2 every single time I make it significantly far in a campaign that l’m playing through. But the difference is I’m subscribed to over 1000 mods from the steam workshop. So I thought the best thing to do to make this stupid error stop pissing me off when I’m playing is to unsubscribe from them all or deactivate most of them by unchecking their boxes within my add-on inventory game. I am beyond sick and tired of this stupid engine error or the sheer amount of all of my mods, causing my game to crash spontaneously like that. And I’m currently trying to find a way to fix my game or my PC‘s programming so it’s stopped completely. Any help or advice would be appreciated for me too. Please and thank you.
