What's a body morph?
I was useing a model and in the description said it's body morph has a paintable option. I have no idea what that is and it wont change color at all in the element viewer or the color script. I tried looking it up but there is no info on it.

What is a body morph?

It would help figure out how to paint it if I knew so I made this and a body morph apparently is obvious.....so my guess is a bodymorph is basically just parts of the model, the materials in the element view im assuming.
You know how you can change facial expressions with the slider? That's a body morph. Body morph = shape key/flex.

That part of the model that has that flex is probably paintable.

It would help if you linked to the model in question; people aren't exactly entirely consistent about their terminology, so the context would help.

Dont all models have body morphs? So does it really matter? I just dont know what it is in general

No, they do not. "Bodymorph" would generally mean a model that uses flex shapes to allow the animator to change their body shape - narrower waist, thicker arms, whatever.

However, that does not make sense in the context of claiming that the bodymorph is paintable. It's like saying "What colour is your car's horsepower?" - while horsepower may be a feature of the car, it's not something that can have a colour.

That's why I asked about the model, because I can't work out what they actually mean without context.

Then that makes things more.....confusing. I'll have to get a hold of the creator to see what he means by "body morphs" being paintable. I guess he means parts in the element viewer. I have no idea

If you could give us some much needed context of what "body morphs" are paintable, that'd be great. A link to the workshop submission would be handy too.

The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Wubba, you've been asked a couple of times what model this is. If you had provided a link to it, we might have been able to explain what the author meant the first time that was asked for instead of dragging this discussion out.

I just wanted to know what a body morph was so I can know what he was talking about and I can do it properly

Although after finally learning all it did was make zero sense. I asked the owner if he could just make a tutorial or explain (of course they NEVER. ANSWER.) cause I cant figure it out. So I think im just gonna give up on it cause this is getting annoying and been at this for a while now and still no reply.

I dont know if he means its customizeable if ported to blender then exported or if there's another damn secret thing in sfm I somehow dont know about but others do and im not doing it right. I tried Vector3 $color like it says to do in another model he says in the description "just like the last one, same method of customization" but all it does is make the damn thing glow. However I will find that very useful in the future so i'm glad I discovered that. But no matter what I do I cant customize it, so im just gonna give up until he finally answers me or some miracle happens....cause I dont see any customizable body morph

That is why we asked for the link, because as Marco pointed out, it can mean a lot of different things. If we don't know WHAT model this is, then we have no idea and are only guessing at what it could mean. If you don't really want to know, that's fine. Don't link, because we have no way of knowing without seeing the model itself.

I agree. It's pretty much a guessing game, unless the model is linked here.
