If you right-click a model's animationset (the thing containing the model's bones and such) and choose Export > Animation, this will make an animation file of the model's animation.
Then you can later or in a different session right-click another model's animationset and choose Import > Animation (not Sequence!), then browse to the exported DMX and load it. Be aware that this might move the model far away if you have the rootTransform bone selected.

Just remember that you can do it while having a rig on. i recommend after animating to smooth it a bit out before you export the animation

When I try to export my animation, the option is greyed out, what do I do?

nevermind i figured it out! You need to make sure the model you want to export/import to not have any rigs attached to it. You must detach the rig you applied to it and then the software will allow you to export the animation you made for it, or import it to another model that doesn't have any rigs attached to it. Easy peasy.
