There should be a bodygroup that removes the bag, but I think it's only on the player model, not the HWM model...
All is not lost though.., I think the bag has it's own bones, which means that all you have to do is select each of the 'bag bones' and add a scale transform to them, then shrink them out of view. :steamhappy:

The way they added mesh to the the model was lazy and you're going to see the seams no matter what you do.

This is why you're seeing the what you do... The picture is the mesh of the HWM Scout.

It even gets worse if you try to use misc items that are only meant for the badded scout (player model) as the AO for the bag is present in the materials.

Actually, it's only on Source FilmMaker's "HWM" Scout model. Most cosmetics, however, were designed with the bag in mind (since it's always there in-game), and thus don't both adding any mesh over where the bag strip is on the Scout's in-game model. A few cosmetics do, though, but far from all.

The bag bones only affect the bag on the back, not the bag strip around the shoulder/chest/belly/side, though.

Which "Spy/Scout cosmetic"?

ugh. yeh. fixing this requires a redesign of the bodygroups and body texture. and seperating the bag bodygroup uvs from the body texture. it could be switched with on and off ao shaded diffuse, but obviously wasn't planned.

since sdk may be outdated compatible with sfm i never tried to fix it. recompiling the sdk models may break animations entirely.

This looks nothing like any TF2 cosmetic. It's actually one of the Steampunk Scout outfits: https://files.gamebanana.com/img/ss/requests/52a493566276c.jpg

They're custom, fan-made character models, not cosmetics.
