How to open Source SDK
Im wanting to use the paintable mercs, i made the folder and file path put the materials in but when i click sfm it doesnt let me choose sdk

To open the Source SDK (which is probably not what you're actually talking about!), open the main Steam window, go to "Library" > "Tools", find it there, and double-click it.

To open Source FilmMaker's SDK (which is probably what you want), just right-click Source FilmMaker in your Steam library (it can be found in "Library" > "Software" and "Library" > "Installed") and choose "Launch SDK".

Oh oops xD but sfm is now showing this weird tf2 loading screen and never will load (had to reboot)

Did you extract/copy/move any content to -/SourceFilmmaker/game/usermod, or did you change the "mod" at the bottom of Source FilmMaker's SDK to something other than "usermod"? In the latter case, just change it back to "usermod". In the former case, you basically messed up.
