Speaking of Source 2, there is a Source 2 FilmMaker that's (possibly) in development. It can also be used by the general public right now: https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/SFM/Changes_In_Dota2_SFM Just know that while running on Source 2, it's more optimized and such, but it's incompatible with Source 1 assets, needs a 64-bit operating system, and also lacks several features Source 1 FilmMaker has (including override materials, I think).
