F11 White Screen Problem (SOLVED)
Hey everyone,
I am new to SFM and have been watching a tutorial on SFM. I clicked Fn + F11 and it showed up a new window which is supposed to be the gamemode screen. However, it wasn't full screen and it was also fully white. I clicked and did wasd while examining and i could hear Scout shooting his gun and moving around, but all i could see was a white screen. I looked up if there was any solutions and i either didnt understand them or there was no helpful solution. I would like to recieve advice on this please.
For my system (idk what my monitor or graphics card is, im new to this comp)

I use windows 10
Processor: Intel (R) Core (TM) i5-7200U CPU @2.50GHz 2.70GHz
Installed memory (RAM): 8.00 GB
System type: 64-bit Operating System, x64-based processor

Help would be greatly appreciated!!!

We need to know what GPU(s) your computer has. From what I know, you should be able to find that out if you hit the Windows key, search for and open "Device Manager", expand the "Display Adapters" list, and then write down the names of all items in that list.

So the map don't appear for you in game mode but does on sfm viewports right. if so make sure you got a camera ready and not a work camera okay. try right clicking a view port you sould see game amoung the list look in it's drop down list for 'teleport player to camera' go back to game mode and it should be sorted. if nothing has changed well this is the best advice i got. unless you haven't got a map loaded up.

While it may be fixed now, I can help you make sure it won't happen again. What happened was Source FilmMaker (incorrectly) use the "integrated" Intel "GPU" instead of the "dedicated"/"discrete" NVIDIA GPU. If you don't tell your computer which to use for a program, it tries to guess which to use, and guessing isn't always perfect.

To tell your computer Source FilmMaker should use the NVIDIA GPU, boot up Source FilmMaker and close it, hit the Windows key, search for and open "NVIDIA Control Panel", go to "3D Settings" > "Adjust image settings with preview" on the left, choose the "Use the advanced 3D image settings" option, click "Take me there" beside the option, switch to the "Program Settings" tab, click "Add" beside the first drop-down list, select "sfm.exe" and add it, select it in the first drop-down list, and then set the second drop-down list to "High-performance NVIDIA processor". Then hit "Apply" in the bottom-right.

You can do the same thing for other games and programs if you want to (and I recommend doing it for games, as your computer might be using the Intel "GPU" instead of the NVIDIA GPU for some of them, and the Intel one is much worse than the NVIDIA one).
