Any way I can make sounds play louder?
I can only lower the sound volumes, I can't get them to go over the default "1". Placing multiple sound files ontop of each other work, but they still aren't loud enough.

The only way is to edit the sound file with sound editing software like Audacity (it's free).

Dang it.. well I guess it shouldn't be too much extra work, thanks anyways.

Or you can stack the sound like a sandwich. Most of the sound in sfm are at 1.0 so if you want louder then stack the same sound till it's loud.

If you can't have 2, then why not settle for 1+1? (No, don't type "1+1" as the volume.) I'm talking about the same as surfer171, but in case you don't know what "stacking sounds" means, it means having a sound, then duplicating it such that there are 2 (or morre) of that sound, both(/all) starting at the same point in time, so they play at the exact same time and thus "stack" on top of each other.

You're going about this the fundamentally wrong way. Only do the bare minimum sound inside of SFM then take care of it in post. This is a much more effective process.

If you mean that subjectively, you should really say so. If you mean that objectively, citation needed.

I don't put much effort into my animations, I just make them for fun, I mainly just make posters

I already said that I did that, but it still wasn't enough

It's not subjective its a matter of fact. A little bit of post is very very easy and goes a long way. It's better and easier to do the bulk of sound in post.

Oops, missed that. Well, in that case, if 1+1 won't work, why not settle with 1+1+1, or 1+1+1+1, or more? You can not get any result from (only) increasing volume in an audio editor that you will not get from stacking multiple sounds together, however many stacked sounds you may need. (Technically, you can get a different result, but the difference will only be based on rounding the volume, and it will be an almost entirely inaudible difference in most cases.)

As someone who does all sound work within Source FilmMaker, I'd like to say "citation needed".

Well that's your problem right there.

In my subjective opinion, that is not a problem.
