how do i add cosmetics to a charecter?
title says it all

Start by watching the official tutorials, so you can learn the basics.

Once you have that covered, the best way to attach a cosmetic model to a character is to:

1- Import the cosmetic's model, like you did with the character model
2- Drag the character model's animation set onto the cosmetic's animation set, this will lock all same-named bones automatically
3- Select all of the cosmetic's locked bones (and ONLY the locked bones)
4- Ensure you're in motion editor mode and all time is selected
5- Fully apply the "zero" procedural preset.

I believe I once had an addon that allowed me to right click and add cosmetics to the TF2 guys in a similar way as bodygroups, but I forget what it was called
