$selfillum is too bright
Hey there guys,

$selfillum is working for me now but it's too bright. I have tried adding $selfillummaskscale to the vmt files and changing it to try and dim down the glow but I can't see any changes in sfm after I refresh the materials.

Does anyone know how I can fix this?
Thanks.

"$selfIllumFresnel" "1"
"$selfIllumFresnelMinMaxExp" "[0.1 Y 0]"

Change y value to control intensity. If you want them dim a y value of around 0.3 would do it.

You can use $SelfIllumTint (or $selfillumtint) to modify the colour of self-illumination (including decreasing the brightness), and/or you can make the self-illumination mask dimmer/darker.

Alright, thanks guys. I'll try both things.

No. Don't use tint to darken stuff. You'll blacken any area affected rather than lessen the intensity of the effect applied in the first place.

It looks ugly.
