Try this link. http://steamcommunity.com/app/1840/discussions/search/?q=save+a+movie&gidforum=882957625843914964&include_deleted=1 . Pick anyone of the discussions there. You'll find that almost no one saves a movie directly from SFM any more. Most of us now export image sequences and patch the movie together using 3rd party tools. Why? Because the AVI exporter in SFM doesn't work and Quicktime is now a huge securtiy risk because it isn't supported anymore and can be easily hacked.

Save (a project file) or export (a movie file)? The terms aren't really interchangeable in this case.

Select a few of the discussions and read through them. Most contain the same information on image sequences and a link to my Blender tutorial on how to patch them together and create a MP4 using it. There are other options out there for patching image sequences, I just like using powerful tools and Blender is free.

If you try to export a video from Source FilmMaker as an AVI video, it'll fill way too much (around 4 gigabytes most of the time), and often be corrupted if it reaches around 4 gigabytes in size. And as QuickTime is an actual security risk, you can't really do MP4/MOV exports (which is fine, since they're way too dark or bright, anyway).

What you should do is an image sequence render, and then take all the images and sound file and turn into a video. Here's a guide on doing so using Blender, which is free and available on Steam:

zappy, when I do an image sequence render, it doesnt show the files in the folder I have it saved in, is that supposed to happen?
Zappy May 5, 2017 @ 12:09am
Please show a screenshot of the folder, as well as Source FilmMaker's render settings from before exporting and what Source FilmMaker looks like while exporting.

The first screenshot is in a folder called "Heavy playing with companion cube".
The second screenshot shows it exports to the desktop.

Check the desktop. There should be 330 PNG files, 1 WAV file, and 1 TXT file (I think) of the video. (Any files besides the PNG and WAV files can just be ignored.)

there is nothing in desktop ?
Zappy May 5, 2017 @ 12:38am
In File Explorer, try clicking on "Desktop" in the "Quick Access" group. If it's not there, try changing the export path in Source FilmMaker. (I recommend exporting it to a brand-new folder of its own, so once you've made a video of the images and sound, you can just delete the folder containing the images and sound easily.)

If that also doesn't help, please show me a screenshot of "This PC" in File Explorer.

All I think might be wrong is that you have so little space left that Windows might not permit Source FilmMaker to write the files it tries to write. (And even then, that's probably wrong.)
