Lip sync on custom models
Hello, I am new to SFM and am starting with custom models from the workshop.

Namely, I'm starting with Junkrat from Overwatch:

His face is tons of bones, unlike the TF2 models I've used. I'm wondering, for lip syncing this, do I need to set up the phonemes manually 1-by-1 using this method:

If so, I'm confused - couldn't the DMX files just be shared online? If I can create them myself, surely they'd be shared online, considering how many people make Overwatch SFM videos... right?

Or maybe I should just manually animate the lip sync?

Thank you.

The only best way is manual lip sync. Setting phomemes technique like the second video you showed is not applicable to Junkrat and basically all models that uses bones instead of flexes.

OK, thank you! I am surprised to hear that since I see some people have like 3-minute videos fully lip synced, but I guess everything gets much faster as it becomes more natural. I'll just keep working on manually doing it.
