Damn... would have loved to play this game, but I don't even have that many friends... ever since I became seriously ill, they all abandoned me...
But thanks for your input, though... guess this game won't be possible for me.
I appreciate that sentiment, dear dev, but sadly my chronic conditions include loss of speech to such a degree that I can't use any Teamspeak-esque methods anymore... and the medication I have to take also royally screws with my ability to concentrate, especially in very dynamic situations, so all in all, I guess I'm SOL here...
Perhaps it would be easier to play by finding one or more Twitch streamers playing the game that are acceptable to you, then joining as a Noble? Buying the game for that would be mainly cosmetic (you can play for free as a Noble), but you wouldn't need voice or text comms aside from being able to type your commands in a Twitch chat.
Do be warned that it can be difficult to find a good fit. There's plenty of offensive Twitch streamers out there, some of which were part of KotC's early access giveaway (when I looked in their Discord, one such person's clip was being discussed - I left immediately.) Given that, I'd rather trust my own instincts in finding a group over their Discord server.
Shame you're from the U.S., I'd love to have someone close by in RL who can appreciate what it means to be severely ill and still a gamer... thanks for your suggestions, but as I said, I'm SOL here... if this game ever got useful AI, I'd definitely wishlist it again tho.
Yeah, its rough. I've got a fair share of "conditions" myself, and try to advocate for accessibility when I can, but there's always going to be a large portion of people who don't or can't understand what those who are significantly ill and/or disabled go through until they experience it themselves.
In particular, the transition from the early internet message boards meta to the current private Discord meta makes it really hard to find a niche to fit in.
Mics aren't required to play, though its a safe assumption that Discord groups will lean towards using voice comms. Via Twitch, only the streamer will need one, with chat using text commands like !vote A.
These sort of games will die once the novelty wears off. Well good luck anyways.
