How to play Oculus PC Edition for Free

Follow the instructions below to play the Oculus PC Edition for free for Quest 2 owners.

- Open your Oculus PC App
- Go to your “Library”
- Install Demeo if it isn’t already installed (Demeo must have been previously purchased via either the Quest or Rift Store)
- Click the “...” button on the Demeo library entry
- Select “Start in Desktop Mode”

In one of their posts, they said that Quest owners won't get the game on Steam, but since you can play it cross-play with friends using codes and run it through the Oculus App on Desktop, I can see why. Sad Q2 owner here, but it's not something I'll lose sleep over.

If I press the Get button it asks if I want to buy it, which I don't as I already have it on the Quest store?

The Rift app on Windows is notoriously bad as you can't buy Quest 2 games through it.

I have it on Quest 2 and when I went to the PC Rift Store the price is crossed out next to Get and I couid download it for free. Once you do that follow my instructions I reposted at the very top of this thread.

FOUND IT!! Completely close STEAM, Reopen STEAM. It's there for download.

I have it on Quest 2 and when I went to the PC Rift Store the price is crossed out next to Get and I couid download it for free. Once you do that follow my instructions I reposted at the very top of this thread.

I took a chance and pressed Get and completed the transaction and I wasn't asked to put my PIN in, so hopefully I wasn't charged.

Cheers for the instructions they seem to have worked, although Quest 2 owners will need to play through the Rift app rather than Steam, which is a shame (I really don't like the Rift app, which I appreciate has nothing to do with Resolution Games).

Here's a video on how to get the game running on Meta. For Steam, make sure to restart Steam if it doesn't show up in your library.
