Blueprint Microchips *unmarked spoilers*

After examining the games source code, I have determined that the Blueprint Microchips can be found in any blue chest, not just the ones in the new area, and that their content is randomly determined upon use not on pickup. So if you were to save your game before decoding one, you could effectively save scum until you got the right one.

Also, I found a Map Screen and three tiers GPS rockets that are tied to the Blueprint Microchips.

Well RIP me - I've deconstructed all the blue crates as I found them - same with golden crates.
I've seen a few new crates but....

**I have 2 microchips on me doing the use/save/reload thing you mentioned I keep getting the same 2 blueprints. Compass and T1 Mining Speed. Tried about 5 or 6 times and the only thing that changes is sometimes I get 1 or the other first but it's always the same 2 in the end**

Interesting, it seems that chests work exactly the same way. If you save your game before opening a chest, you can keep safe scumming until you get something awesome.

I'll need to go in game to verify.

Yeah I just completely shut down and restarted the game and got the same pair of blueprints 3 times in a row. I'll just store the microchips for now.

I suspect you are seeing items in the code that haven't been turned on yet.

It would appear that chests can be save scummed.

Hmm. This isn't the case for me BUT I think this might only be the case if you haven't interacted with the contents in any way - which unless I come across a brand new chest I won't be able to test.

All the chests in my game have been looted or messed with in some way - even in the new area unless I find one hidden.

Yes that would be the logical takeaway, as once you've viewed the contents you've essentially locked the result in place.

Yes, the chest loot is random.

Basically, when you find an unopened chest.
1. Save game.
2. Open chest.
(keep the loot if it's good, otherwise)
3. Close chest.
4. Quit to main menu without saving.
5. Load save.
6. Open chest.
7. Find new loot.
8. Repeat until satisfied.

I found the BP for the GPS rocket and launched it, but I can't figure out how to bring up a map.

You need to build a map screen, like the screen that shows your energy output.

I added the new map to my guide in case your curious about how it looks.

Hmm, where did you find the GPS blueprint? I thought I had found all the stuff in the new area or was it in an 'older' location?

Located the GPS document. Had to cycle through the other blueprints I played with earlier.

Still don't have the GPS screen - must be another blueprint?
