Chivalry 2 crashes on startup

Pressing play on the game results in an immediate crash with the crash log showing a fatal error followed by, "Unreal Engine is exiting due to D3D device being lost."
Here's what I HAVE tried:
Updating drivers, verifying game cache, checking firewall permissions, reinstalling, running as admin, Re-installing Unreal Engine (because why not) and DirectX.
None of the above has worked in solving this problem.
Has anyone else run into this issue and/or found a solution for it? I just want to play the friggin' game...

Update: Typing "-dx12" into Launch Options seems to have worked for me. The game now actually starts and plays without crashing.

Updated GPU driver, got this error, this solution fixed it.
