What are shields actually good for?

They can block arrows and have a bit better field of block than standard blocking, but is that it? You are still impacted by the stupid stamina, interrupt, it breaks in like 4 hits, they seem to be mid asf.

Medium and Light Shield has a stronger bash and throw damage, which synergizes pretty well with the Guardian's one-handed hammer

What is the counter gamble? Comboing from a block? If so, it really seems to be an option against some weps

Light shield is equipped on your left shoulder. If you're a raider and have a Slot 2 Messer, the shoulder shield passively blocks arrows aimed at your upper torso

They can block projectiles, and if you notice when you time your block well the block icon is blue not yellow - works p well for me, as a noob

I've also gotten a fair amount of takedowns just whipping it at people in duels, too
