Any constructive tips for playing better?
I feel like this game has a monumental skill gap that can only be bridged through years of experience. Chivalry is definitely not easy to learn and certainly not easy to master. It's genuinely the most difficult game I've ever played because the complexity of the controls and how you can combo them requires a kind of muscle memory I just don't have.

PvP most of the time feels impossible to me. Even though I maxxed out mouse sensitivity, people still seem to fly around my character, hitting me instantly, even though I thought I had a good grasp on using your mouse and keys to accelerate hits and aim behind your opponent. I just can't do it fast enough apparently.

Some people are just untouchable. I don't know how they can have such inhuman spatial awareness in a game as chaotic as this. It's very impressive, but also very frustrating. How they develop the necessary muscle memory to know how to play that flawlessly is beyond me.

Dodge and stay out of range; it's more important than blocking and anything else like that!

weapons can be fast as wind up alow . oponent can hit you with begining of damage tracer which apear as accelerated hit . if he hits you with end of damage tracer its dragged atack . look for position of body of oponent actively to predicts these atacks

I have about 400 hrs on Epic. In addition to all that's been said already a big one is keep moving. Avoid getting into long drawn out 1v1 duels in Team Obj or standing around alone. Hit someone already fighting and run to attack someone else.

As you're running (sprinting preferably) get a good idea of what the larger moves/pushes/chokepoints are happening around the map. Avoid trying to flank a cluster of enemies until you become more competent in 1vX.

After you kill an enemy immediately do an overhead or stab while turning around. The longer any battle takes the chances go up exponentially that people are running to stab you in the back.

In general avoid being alone. It's better to wait 10 secs in the spawn to run into the fray with your team than attempting lone wolf shenanigans (these can be high-risk, high-reward but you must be able to hold your own and know when to retreat). A wave of united teammates can turn the tide, one heroic solider is usually a distraction at best and at worst a free insta-kill.

If you have to create space in a difficult fight turn and jump away then turn again and face your enemy. One jump away covers more distance faster than backing away struggling to survive. Turning away, jumping away once and turning back can reset the fight and prevent you from getting overwhelmed.

Before you revive a downed teammate make sure to look around and confirm no enemies are close by. I've gotten quite a few double kills by slashing both the helper and the downed because the fight which caused the original teammate to fall is quite close and still in progress.

I have also died this way many times by being overly zealous to revive a downed teammate.

When you get downed crawl away from the battle towards the spawn or rear line archers. Ignore other players near the fight you just lost to revive you. If you can't crawl away because of the crowd try to punch the enemy twice. If you get the prompt to get up, crawl away and get clear first, then stand.

Getting those punches in and surviving while downed is tough but don't be so eager to stand, you will get killed instantly 99% of the time if you rise in the same spot you got downed in the first place.

Don't apply your bandage until you make sure you're clear, run away a bit then put it on. Getting caught in the middle of healing almost always means death.

If you want to get better at dueling and learn how to read a greater variety of weapon animations or morphs/feints go to a Duelyard in the Standalone Server section (preferably one that says "Flourish to Duel"). It's a lower stress way to improve your skill and have fun. You'll see some very cool moves and some people may be open to teaching you a bit if you ask.

Learn initiative, distance, positioning, counter/riposte. Watch a youtube video it'll show you.

If you're playing footman, I strongly recommend keeping an eye on enemies (or allies) who die without getting downed first. If they're a knight or vanguard, 9/10 times their weapon is better than yours.
This is 100% wrong.

Try picking fights with footman weapons and see what happens. They aren't the best in a fight as a design choice since the class they're attached to has the fastest charging ability in the game that's also stackable three times.

I agree. Literally any weapon is scary in the right hands. Especially spears and shortswords.

Hmm... Hard to follow you Aya.
Are you saying that most of the footman's weapons are less damaging than most of the weapons for the Vanny & Knight?
But the footman class has the fastest charging for health, which you can stack up to 3 times.
Yeah?

I'm saying that their weapon stat spread is worse than Vanguard and Knight weapons, and I think the intention is that the Footman is supposed to have two secondary weapon slots (one secondary/2 deployable for Field Engineer) while they use their cooldown ability as if it were their primary weapon.

Yes in a 1v1 duel POLEMAN weapons are slightly worse than knight/vanguard weapons. But ALL the melee weapons (except katars) are viable, the game is mostly skill based, I use polehammer all the time and don't feel at a big disadvantage vs knights/vanguards at all. Telling OP to ditch their halberd or polehammer or spear (S-tier TO weapon) isn't really helpful advice for a beginner IMO.

Telling a beginner to ditch their halberd or polehammer or spear (S-tier TO weapon), or to even mention flaming chickens when they're asking for basics, is horrible advice.
I mean, Vanguard's probably the best class to play for beginners, since they have the highest stamina pool in the game (blocks are less punishing), and already have a strong weapon from the get-go.

Knight's best loadouts are Officer/Greatsword/Mace (locked behind level 20) and Guardian/Warhammer/Short Sword/Medium Shield (locked behind Level 6)

Footman's only worthwhile loadout based on my experience with him (really want to drop the class entirely tbh) is Man-at-Arms/One-Handed Spear/Mace/Medium Shield (locked behind Level 16)

I edited my comment but no literally all the loadouts except Katars are "worthwhile".
I'm lvl 480 and recently mainly use Axe + sword + buckler, or Polehammer, or Greatsword.
