What I like are LONG weapons; polearms of various types. If there's a slashing polearm like the glaive or bill, I'll be very happy.

some people get alot of kills with highland sword so it couldnt be a bad weapon. the weapons biggest strength is its length wich is really good in 1vx.

HS from personal experience is the best weapon hands down, but any person with decent counters with 1-hander (rapier, spear) can easily f** it. the range on HS and just the dmg is what makes it imo better than everything even the Executioners. x2 danes can also win if you hug the guy with HS. people tend to try keep distance from HS which is the worst thing. you gotta hug him

Don't worry about what people "rate" weapons as. You find which weapon you're good at and you play it. I do play executioners axe, and I second the maul. Neither are popular weapons and I'm usually in the top 1-3 at level 160 with either one. It's about learning your weapon and skill. I can kill people with other weapons but going back to my main (exe axe) feels like putting the right sized shoes on and more comfortable.

Dane axe is the best weapon by a large margin and very new player friendly.

HIghland Sword is broken right now. Too much damage, buggy hitbox.

Executioner axe only went down because it was OP as before. The range and speed are fine, the damage was nerfed by 5. It's still a good weapon but it tends to hit a lot of teammates since people are dumb.

Group fights? It's still good.

The weapon does not really matter that much, unless you play another person that knows how to abuse and exploit the mechanics. If they don´t they you could win with just about any weapon, even a shovel.

No there are archer classes. Bows, crossbows, javelins.
