New update. Playerbase still can't get above 2k?
The game had 7k daily players on Steam during release what happened?

Dead game.

That's what happens when you release the game on Epic exclusively for a whole year...People forget the game exists so they don't buy it.

Quite literally every game does this, shouldn't take a data analyst to explain that.

Terraria:
https://steamdb.info/app/105600/graphs/

Its game's all-time peak was 489,886 two years ago May 14, 2020, it dropped down to 192,132 within two weeks and balanced around the 50-60k mark for last year and this year. Does that mean the game's dead because it lost over half it's audience and more?

Lets take a more recent and highly popular game, Elden Ring.
https://steamdb.info/app/1245620/graphs/

Its all-time peak was a staggering 953,426 March 3, 2022. Within a month that halved to 457,182 and in half a month 282,119. Today it hovers between 15k-30k.

Does this mean Elden Ring is dead because it lost 97% of its peak playerbase?

Quit making excuses that they did something wrong or the game 'died'

Point is every game has an opening audience that hops on the hype train/release of the game, afterall it's the new big thing that everyone's doing. After that point and overtime, a game filters out the people who do not like the gameplay, that do not like a grind some (XYZ) bug/feature and more especially, they don't make the game a constant thing they play everyday.

Even the factor of timezones, whereas some player in US East is getting on after a day at school/work, some dude in Germany is getting off to go to sleep. It's a constant swap of playerbase regions making up that playercount.

Steam and Epic
Chivalry 2 on steam had all-time peak on concurrent players was 16,959, aka all us people too stubborn to play on Epic Games because we prefer the Steam experience. There is a playercount we cannot account for since it's on a whole other platform. This is quite literally the same case for the games above, Terraria and Elden Ring, another part of the playerbase that makes up the real total playercount.

@ionkiller, yea they aren't listening xD they gonna keep saying the game is dead even though it isn't, I have no idea how they can only look at steam charts and believe there is only 2k playerbase, you and even mods here have said time again there are more players on the other platform.

while I can agree that 2k isn't quite as "optimal" for a steam playerbase but 2 things to keep in consideration here,

1 - TB is a Indie game studio! key note INDIE, they probably didn't even have a big advertisement for Chiv 2 so they go accordinly their budget like any other indie devs, just to be clear another indie game Killing Floor 2 only had 4k steam playerbase after the hype had tone down, many other more mainstream games like Elden Ring have a bigger hype over them since Dark Souls seems to be a pretty popular game

2 - One mentioned here on the forums that unfortunatly Slashers melee combat games tends to be niche, and just cant keep up with shooters... it sucks because I for one am hoping for the decline in shooters in favor of other genres. It is what it is unfortunatly

It's above 2k, stop thinking people only play the game on Steam, it's is only a small fraction of the player base, most people play it on EGS and Xbox.

incompetent devs has happened

this genre is doomed with incompetent developers

chiv2 itself was a cashgrab anyway, they took the epic exclusive deal, now they took the game pass deal, and they never fixed their game properly
its nothing else than a beta scam

Eviscerator would you get out of your doomer mindset and read above? You don't even know the definition of the words you're typing, and if you do, you do not have the slightest bit of real explanation for it.

The novelty kind of wears off after 2 hours play. Moving like you're wearing concrete skates on a surface full of rocks isn't fun.

What you are seeing is the STEAM players. Not the overall players between Xbox, PlayStation or Epic Games. I don't know how many times this has to be reiterated to you people.

steam has always been the smallest userbase for chiv 2, not to mention over 500k new players are playing via gamepass since its launch 4 days ago.
