No, it never got a chance to live so it isn't dying. It's just dead.

^^ this if the game hadnt got taken offline at its peak multiversus would have had a way better run but most players still have a sour taste in their mouth from the first time, myself included

This game is already in the ICU

Unfotunately yes. There are still plenty of players on PC and console, but I hope it doesn't completely die off. I love this game.

Not casual friendly due to competitivity and not pro friendly due to laughable unbalance and terrible exploits. If things do not change on drastic scale, i do not see a future for it

we're all dying

In an era of gaming where a good percentage of players care more about "meta" than having fun, any game with even mild imbalance will fail. Players find the most broken character and spam the most broken move. It's like this in every game, not just MVS. Look at recent releases in the competitive multiplayer genre and this issue is present in nearly all of them, resulting in obvious failure. The ones where it isn't present have been sitting on top of the Steam charts for years. (And pretty much all of those games suck and haven't done anything new or inventive since they were released)

yes and no?
considering this is free to play it always goes up and down depending on steam charts

This.

Every fighting game "dies" after awhile because toxic players think it's more fun to spam a broken mechanic and make people leave the game than...idk, not doing that. But also look at MK1...even after several character releases, the game is "dead".

However, MVS has a pretty steady 4K players on Steam during peak hours and that doesn't include Epic, Xbox, and PS5. So I'd say it's doing pretty good considering.

It's funny how all the people defending everything about this game like a cultist have stopped as well.
