This game has an INSANE hitbox problem.
I understand hitboxes cant be perfect and lag can make it that way. I play fighting games a lot but this game is terrible with hitboxes and makes me genuinely not want to put time into it anymore. Most hitboxes in games are either complained about for being too big or small for the given effects of the attack. However this game seems to have an issue with just making every hitbox and actual ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ gigantic aoe circle. So many times I have hit people with attacks that aren't even facing their direction that i should have missed yet I ring them out with it. Attacks that are directed to the right and hit people to the left of me and vice versa? I am literally hitting people behind me and being hit by people with attacks that are directed completely elsewhere. At times my combos get messed up because I mess up and EXPECT the attack that a whiffed to miss but it just somehow hits anyway. Every game it is noticeable and with almost every character. I play jason and spike alot and I am constantly hitting people with attacks or being hit by attacks that arent even facing my direction.

I saw in a commercial where Batman jumps with his fist to the right and knocks out the player on the left.
Now try it Super Smash Bros Ultimate and be amazed by how precise the hitboxes are.

I feel like they failed attempt number two with the netcode remake. Seems like there's desync, which is not a good sign. I don't think this game can survive having bad netcode a second time lol.

Nothing like having to reach deep past the center of their character hitbox despite me clearly seeing LeBron touching half their character model. Who tested this? Yet characters get free anti-airs that cover 180 degrees around their body like an Iron Dome and giant hitbox retractions for just mouthbreathing on their controller? Give me a break.

This was a problem in the closed tests and has never been fixed, and it probably won't be. Seems to me they redid the UI, turned the grind knob to max, the rewards knob to minimum and put some more microtransactions, called it a day

The netcode has all the same issues right now. I've had the run-left fast death bug, where it buffers LEFT input, and locks it in, forcing me to run to my death on respawn. Or, the insta death desync, where I'm suddenly at +100% dmg, and I fly off into space while no one is near me.

I'm disappointed it's the same jank.
