- Blackholes are insta-lose, nothing you can do about it, sucks to suck, enjoy the run back, GG go next.
- Vortexes are either insta-lose, nothing you can do about it, sucks to suck, enjoy the run back, GG go next --OR-- they're who cares lmao, can't stop won't stop, couldn't care less.
- And every single other anomaly in the game fits nicely into the "Who cares" tier where you just walk right through it while occasionally eating a medkit.
And the absolute worst thing is Vortexes are everywhere, so you really get desensitised to just paying them no mind and walking through them, until that one time where you manage to snag a bush, or get lifted into tree leaves, or the vortex is at a lower Z-level compared to the nearby terrain, or a dog chasing you gets a nip in and the constant pull-back of his no-damage bites keeps you locked in place. just seems wrong for all but two of the anomalies to be basically non-existent.
My complaint boils down to, "Vortexes are super inconsistent and the other non-Blackhole anomalies may as well not exist."
reading this as i just died to an invisible vortex. fuel my spite

Actually this was yesterday. Happened like ~45 minutes after I made the first post in this thread.
Skill issue :P

No. You're just bad at this. Nothing more, nothing less.
No. You're just unreasonable. A balanced game knows how to cater to the casual audience as well as their committed/competitive audience. You can still balance anomalies in the game to where they aren't just inconsistent deathtraps. stalcraft isn't mean't to be an extremely hard game, that's apparent from the mechanics it offers and from simply playing the game. This absolute tryhard mentality you have is what stops the game from growing cause all your tiny brain can think to add to the dialogue is "skill issue" instead of literally anything that actually counters anyone's points. sincerely shut the ♥♥♥♥ up bro, you are a waste of air.
nah
all you gotta do to a black hole is /suicide. come back and bam bag still there.
most vortex/blackholes/anomolies are easily seen... unless you have a poop 60 hrz 75 hrz monitor at less than 100 fps....... i can see them crystal clear on a 2k 120 hrz monitor... and a 1080p 240hrz monitor... with no modifications on colors/files.
I think thats the thing right there... not everyone has access to/does that with their monitor. that statement only takes a small playerbase into consideration and its not even the casual playerbase
The original series had a distinctic warning sound from the PDA when you get close to any anomaly
Well aware, although retrieving the bag can be genuinely impossible sometimes without the help of a friend or lured enemy.
But my point was the extreme power differential between gravity anomalies and every other anomaly. Blackholes are super significant, Vortexes are 50/50 and every other anomaly may as well not exist at all.
