Anyone else find the game boring?
I mean the story is passable but out side of that its incredibly tedious and well boring, The backpacks the photos etc Harry's clinics.. after about 20 minutes its really the same thing over and over..

Sure it feels like spider-man and plays well combat wise but after beating up the billionth generic hoodie bad guy.. I dunno i'm not sure what people were raving about.

Is this whats considered a hit on consoles.. Pretty sure i played this game years ago called "Prototype" which was actually better story wise.. and it hasn't changed outside of a graphic update..

I am not feeling it..

I enjoy this game because Spider-Man XD
Jokes aside, yeah I kinda agree this game reminds me alot of Prototype 1 and 2

I felt like this for a while after playing RDR2. Man, that game was something else. If you just look at this game as a superhero game you will enjoy it far more tho!

I love this game. The movement is so fun.

Some... While others search for the tiniest things just to complain (often about non-existant issues), because nothing else exiting is happening in their dull lives... =)

theres a difference between an "uninformed opinion" and an "expert opinion".

He's kind of right though. Market is flooded with open world games. Don't even get me started on survival games.

There is a difference between overall open world fatigue, which is understandable, and open world being boring.

I remember having a blast in Far CXry 3, not for the open-world mainly but for the story. Same goes for Spider-man.

The biggest problem stems from teh fact that people see games as investments they need to extract the most hours of enjoyment out of. Games are just enteretainment and it is completely fine to play them only as long as they entertain you. After all playing more won't make your money come back in youir pocket.
I'm not sure they are all boring but definitely repetitive..

Everything you described is literally every Spiderman game ever made except maybe Friend or Foe.

im 100% with you. infact until the day i die i will now fully dismiss ANY claims of playstation exclusives being worth a thought much less my time, because they made it sound like this game was.. well "amazing". honestly i think the dreamcast games had better control for traversal, i didnt buy a spiderman game to play as mj or miles either, QTEs are garbage, the enemy variety is a horrible joke as are the npc's, nobody needs pride flags in games, and the combat is pathetically stale.

im reminded of breath of the wild really, it was a 6.5 game BUT since it was a zelda game and all we heard were zealots chanting "10 of 10" there was a certain expectation that it be something special.. which it totally wasnt.
was just waiting for you to call these games woke but you said it without saying it lmao good thing you spent the money and supported it so theyll keep making these woke games, for the smart people.

Man. Wait until you discover Spider-Man 2 (PS2/Gamecube/Xbox) and Hulk Ultimate Destruction (PS2/Gamecube/Xbox).

TL/DR = Unpredictability is the Key to Fun
Increase Difficulty Settings super high to increase unpredictability

Longer Version:
Chess is the same redundant thing over and over again also in its core rules and structure, Basketball is the same redundant limitation as well, Football is the same thing... But they're timeless classics that are enjoyed around the world for decades. Sure, each game is different and how the battle is played but the same thing goes for this Spider-Man Game. Just like a Basketball NBA game each Spider-Man Fight can play out differently, and this is why playing at higher DIFFICULTIES of the game is the key to enjoying not only this game, but many games... The "key" is Higher Difficulty settings (which adds in the unpredictability, and "surprise factor" you seek)... Boredom occurs when you can "predict the outcome" of an event. If Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls played against a crappy Elementary School group of kids in a basketball match, it would be boring... Because there is NO CHALLENGE and everything is predictable.

Add some Spice into your life, enhance the difficulty up to such a high level, where a bullet from a Sniper Rifle can mean the End for Spider-Man.

This is why Dark Souls like games get such high praise, because of its greater difficulty. As for the story line? This is standard and "accurate" spider-man comic book story line. It's Accurate, and focuses on the battle between Peter Parker's personal life and his life of being responsible with all that power.

The real solution is Higher difficulty settings...
This is what makes Chess engaging, when its and the outcome unpredictable
This is what makes Basketball, Football, and Elite Sports so amazing for many people...
It's the "Unpredictable Factor"... And you can only make things "unpredictable" in a video game when you raise the difficulty level (and if that's still too easy, use artificial handicapping methods such as not using suit gadgets etc)

We live in a day and age where we are spoon fed our entertainment.
Back in the day kids and adults had to use their imagination and improvise with their fun.
Learn to make your own rules, learn to self handicap, like the good ol' Dungeon and Dragon Days... Make your own story and challenge... Make things unpredictable...

You have ALL THE TOOLS you need in this modern day of spoon fed entertainment
What are world is having is a bad case of Dopamine Burnout...
We live in a spoiled culture of plenty...
Challenge is gone... Predictability is gone...

This is why Dark Souls type of games excites so many people, because it puts them back in that corner of fear, unpredictability, limitation...
Elden Ring and Dark Souls has practically no story line, but its prize is found in the "Unpredictable" rush...

Give your Dopamine a treat...

Give it some unpredictability via the Gateway of Higher Difficulty Settings

This is not the wonder game that Sony markerting sells, but it´s quite entertaining and I bought the key for a good price.

I perch for hours. Some people just like being Spider-man for a while. Photo mode is a gas! Simple as that. :batsymbol:
