The Amazing Spiderman 1 and 2 were far better. Sadly they no longer exist on steam.
after a break I can do another round of Spider-Man. means I'm not exactly glued in front of my screen andI want to know what happens next in the story.
You asked a question, someone answered no and now you try to look down on him because he answered no.
Some people are toxic for teh sake of it these days, imagine looking dfown on people for having fun with something your'e not, that's pretty lame.
And they are all universally loved because you get to really feel like the character you're playing. But, like any video game that goes on for more than 20 hours, its going to be repetitive. Theres only so much new stimulation you can get playing a game for 400 hours. Pretty much everything you did in the first 6 hours is what you'll be doing the rest of the time until you 100% the game. And even then you can still go around and fight crime like a regular super hero. And thats what this is. Its super hero simulator.
can't believe they never added venom despite the big cliff hanger and overwhelming success this game had.
I think the only thing the ycould do better is give you options/branching paths. But this game does a great job of immersion like phone calls that pick up making reference to things you were just doing. This game is insanely immersive.
but I think everyone prefers their actions to change the story. It would be nice if we had, for example, (spoilers)
A way to get shocker to help us, so we could have a tag team match between us and him vs the demons. Or choose to help miles train so he can become a sidekick in certain missions. or choose to romance Black Cat or push her away. Just as a few examples. I realize this isnt that type of game, thats why i say the only thing they could do to improve this, would be to add those sort of elements. And it wouldnt be all that hard. just add some code that impacts which scene plays out next and which quest is given next based on what boxes you checked before hand. like if you went and collected all the black cat dolls before meeting black cat in person it could have an impact. or she could mention you wearing the suit she gives you.
its little things like that, that make players feel not just immersed, but in control of the narrative.
But again. this isnt that type of game. This is a super hero simulator. you aren't playing your own story. You're playing their story, its linear, and repetitive, and thats all there is to it.
But for what it -is- its pretty fun.
I downloaded the new game plus file to see what it would be ilke, going through the game with all the options unlocked. And I gotta say, its kinda boring. new game plus should be exciting but for me it seems like i have no real motivation to do any of the side jobs since experience means nothing to me, collecting tokens means nothing to me, so on and so forth. I think their new game plus system is a bust. Successful NG+ systems never start you off with -everything- unlocked, you always have to have a sense of progression as you unlock things again, but they let you start off with certain things, advantages, bonuses, benefits. Except in games like Dynasty Warriors where new game plus is more like, required, if you want to play it on Chaos, you pretty much -have- to be playing a supped up character from the get go. But thats an outlier.
so yeah I get it this game leaves a lot to be desired, but its still just a super hero simualtor and it does that pretty well. mods will hopefully bridge some of these gaps and complete the game for us.
im 100% with you. infact until the day i die i will now fully dismiss ANY claims of playstation exclusives being worth a thought much less my time, because they made it sound like this game was.. well "amazing". honestly i think the dreamcast games had better control for traversal, i didnt buy a spiderman game to play as mj or miles either, QTEs are garbage, the enemy variety is a horrible joke as are the npc's, nobody needs pride flags in games, and the combat is pathetically stale.
im reminded of breath of the wild really, it was a 6.5 game BUT since it was a zelda game and all we heard were zealots chanting "10 of 10" there was a certain expectation that it be something special.. which it totally wasnt.
It's not rocket science.
it is massively boring and shallow
New Flash! This Just In: Polls reveal people like things and others don't.
And in other news today, people feel the need to go tell other's they're wrong, because they aren't having fun.
Just another Tuesday on Steam forums.
I'm leaning the other way. The story was ok but the fact that about 20% of the story missions force you to play as somebody who isn't spider man was an absolute chore. In one of them you even have to play as somebody who isn't spider man while you watch spider man do all the cool spider man stuff that you want to do. I mean, why? What the f*ck is this? Am I being trolled?
Swinging round the city feels great and the combat is great too so I prefer just doing the side stuff so I don't suddenly find myself stuck in the shoes of somebody I have zero interest in controlling. It's like that one mission in Arkham Knight where you play as Commissioner "Boredom", but it does it for nearly a quarter of the game.
