Getting 5 FPS on Low Settings on my 3080
Hi folks i hope someone can help,

I am getting 5 fps i havent even hit the ground yet from the first intro because it is lagging that much. I have an i9-11980HK with 32gb ram and a 16gb 3080.

I have had it on 1080 with all settings low and it doesnt change anything.

my system is an alienware x17 R1 and i have no issues playing any game on 4k 60fps with raytracing turned off. Please help i know this issue isnt hardware related.

Hello. My name is Manuel and I work for NVIDIA. Thank you for your feedback. I would like our software team to look into this. Please email me at driverfeedback@nvidia.com with the following (if email is blocked, it is also contained in the FAQ in step 4):

1. Laptop make and model
2. If the laptop supports Advanced Optimus mode, please let me know if you are gaming in hybrid mode (integrated GPU + dedicated GPU) or dedicated GPU only mode
3. Please let me know if you are gaming on the laptop screen or an external screen.
4. This is the most important request although it takes a few minutes to setup your notebook first. Please capture a GPUView trace from the game on your laptop by following the FAQ below. Please make sure you are on the latest Game Ready Driver 516.94. when you capture the GPUView trace and that you are seeing the low FPS. Once captured, upload the GPUView trace file to a file sharing site such as Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive. Last but not least, include the link to download the file in your email to me.

Thank you for your assistance.

Disable CPU Hyperthreading, people are reporting this to fix the CPU issues.
I have tried myself and seen a huge improvement, now the CPU is actually being used and the game runs at a much higher framerate.

I can now have RT on without having framerate drops due to low CPU usage (bottlenecking).

how do i do this

First make sure your CPU actually has hyperthreading/SMT (i7, i9 etc i5 don't have it for example).
You need to enter your BIOS menu, and on advanced settings for CPU you should see the option to disable it.

Google how you can enter your BIOS menu, usually you need to press DEL or F2 key when PC is booting up.

From 60-70 fps to 100+ fps.

Seeing that you are playing on a laptop the first thing I would check is if the game isn't using your integrated graphic card instead of the dedicated one

Thanks for getting back to me, is this something I can disable per game in the nvidia control panel? I don't fancy changing this option per game. Any word on the developer being aware of this issue that they may fix it in an update.

No. You need to restart your computer every time you change it through any method. Hyperthreading is a CPU function, not GPU, so Nvidia control panel has nothing for it.

So laptop or AIO.
Which means the potential of typical laptop issue of incorrect GPU being used.

Have you checked Windows Powerplan and Nvidia Control panel power settings ?

How do people not remember which CPU SKUs have SMT enabled ? :3 (jk)

Intel has a very nice DB for their CPUs fyi:

Also, laptops/aio tend to have pretty lackluster BIOSes.

thanks again folks for the help, I have tried the hyperthreading thing made sure it was running the 3080 intstead of integrated and made sure the power management was for maximum performance and im still getting between 3 and 5 fps.

Ill probably have to wait on an update i just hope it isnt too long. I might test it on the 2080ti on the PC see how it fares I know the laptops capable though thats why its giving me the big sad haha. cheers lads

If it's that bad, a patch won't fix your issues.
Either you need to do a wipe of your drivers or reinstall your OS, having 5 frames is a sign of issues on your system.

Make sure to update your chipset drivers as well.

I have no issues on any other game I play though, surely the issue would be apparent across more than just this game ?
