Video Proof - SOME controllers are causing MASSIVE FPS and Frametime drops
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jYX1aNQcc2g

Xbox series controller, connected via Xbox Wireless adaptor to my PC, not Bluetooth. I will test hardwired. PS5 hardwired works fine as does M&K

(Edit) - Hardwired works fine. This seems to be a issue with Xbox wireless adaptors.

thats weird because Im using a series X controller (The Forza one) and it works fine with no framerate issues. wonder why its doing that for some people

its very likely your CPU bottlenecking hard and the polling rate of some controllers being 1000mhz literarily pushing your CPU over.

iam using a PDP xbox controller and all works fine.

mis-information? Did you look at the video? Its pretty clear that something is going on. I have narrowed it down to the Xbox Wireless adaptor. Which I should point out works no problem in literally every other game I own.

What is the Controller Firmware version? Is it using the BLE updated or the old standard BT? BLE version does not have this issue for me at all when starting controller before launching gameas any changes to any settings during play including switching control types causes issues with performance that can only be fixed by a restart. DLSS Quality performs better than DLSS Performance for a lot of people. Dynamic resolution degrades performance over time as well on Nvidia game ready drivers.

The dongle is a Bluetooth dongle but that isn't the point if you go into Xbox Accessories app and click firmware on your controller does it prompt for a update? The latest firmware gave support for BLE devices (I understand you see this as not relevant but its the easiest way to search for change logs if you want) the old drivers that they ship with are deprecated and outdated. They use a new encryption now as well and before to long 3rd party controllers wont work anymore. RIP SN30 Pro dongle.

Might be a hardware issue.

If you start the game with the controller on it gives same FPS issues?

Probably the dongle then. That sucks you can find them in bulk sales in OEM packaging around 10 dollars sometimes. Key word is sometimes.

I still believe its the way the game is interfacing with the hardware, as ALL other games are fine. I will continue testing other games.

Update, i tried on my i9 9900k and it is true, with the cable fps doesn't tank. FPS drops using the controller wireless.
I also tried on another pc with a ryzen 3600, it makes no difference. Maybe it is also the chipset.
