Yup. If not for Pete people watched that movie not for a single character but because of all the varieties of spideys that appeared there, including Miles. Movie made far better job at making him likeable than comics to me but I'd lie if Ultimate Marvel Miles was bad. He had solid motives to start doing "spidery stuff". But that was years ago and I do not follow Marvel comics anymore.
Fan favorite? His game sold less than 10% of the 2018 Peter Parker game. Doesn't sound like a fan-favorite to me.
But anyways, these missions are over fast enough that I don't mind them (despite the annoying 'instant-fail" stealth gameplay mechanics). Mary Jane is an awful nightmare character that wouldn't know charisma if it bit her on the butt and Miles Morales is a dweeby fanboy that drives me up the wall... but you only see them for a fraction of this game's run time. It's not that bad, and they make Peter Parker look all the better by comparison.
Miles would be less grating, in this game and other media, if he was HIS OWN CHARACTER with his OWN SUPERHERO NAME and HIS OWN VILLAINS rather than an awful 2010s replacement Peter Parker created to meet diversity quotas who co-opts Peter's title, his suit motifs, his powers, and even his rogue gallery. But eh, modern comics. He's better than Ms. Marvel, at least.
Because it's a glorified DLC that wasn't worth the price it was asking.
Also, excuse me? Google ''Is miles morales popular'' and you'll see plenty of proof he's a fan favorite. Nobody is saying he's more of a favorite than Peter Parker obviously, but pretending he's disliked is nonsense.

For a glorified DLC, this is incredibly impressive.
The only two games sold more in the US is the base game Spider-Man and God of War. If you think this doesn't prove he's popular or a fan favorite then i'd love to see some sources to back up your claim. Also i'd like some of what you're smoking.
No he isn't. He's a diversity insert forced on us by a woke company. His own game made a fraction of the sales this game did.
Okay buddy, you do you.
