This game looks and plays outdated

I've had it for PS4 since 2018 but only played it for about 30 minutes because I couldn't stand the FPS. Now with a remaster and PC port to boot, I was expecting to be surprised but nah.

The visuals are outdated as heck. This screams PS4 graphics even though it was remastered for PS5. The worst part are the textures which look puddles of mud. If you told me this was a straight port of the PS4 game with only a res bump, I would believe you.

RT absolutely murders CPU performance on Very High but looks like crap on anything below.

It plays like Batman except worse (but more fun swinging) and for some strange reason, Arkham Knight on PC despite being 3 years older looks better than this. This only got such good reviews because it was an exclusive. The Batman Arkham games (even Origins, the weakest of the bunch) dunk over this game.

But it didn't change the gameplay like being smoother or anything. It is just a game mechanic. The same that Shadow of Mordor doesn't have swinging.

Yes, it absolutely did completely transform the gameplay. The entire game revolves around that so what are you talking about?

"Like being smoother". Are you high? Something having more frames or better animations is exactly not changing the gameplay. It's simply enhancing what's already there.

I'm not high, but it seems that you have to get kind of personal without an argument. If you say it plays "outdated", I expect something different than the nemesis system. And actually, it isn't that revolutionary and great and I played both games. You could pretty much ignore it if the game didn't forced you to interact with it.

An Assassin's Creed 1 plays outdated to AC2, if that example makes it clearer what I'm talking about.

I can see where the OP is coming from. From what I've watched in 4k gameplay videos of the game it's nothing special graphically or in gameplay. A good point was made about digital foundry and paid-encouraged hype of games. The way a lot of sites use Doom Eternal for everything is so blatantly paid for it's ridiculous.
Nothing I've seen from gameplay videos so far has me wanting to buy this and add to the list of games unfinished.

OP I don't know if even owns game on PC, looking just pure bait topic...

RTX 3070 has similar to 2080ti performance, but it has better Raytrace performance!!! I have RTX 3070 and Ryzen 5600x and 32GB RAM (game uses on my rig about 17GB RAM), and I play in 1440p. I set details to high and Raytrace also to high. You can see on my screenshots that game has usually 70fps with some drops to 55fps (usually when loading in background new area) but mostly peaks to 80-100fps!
I have also HZD (Preordered so played since day 1!) and as I keep my system as clean as possible, I had no problems/crashes but performance, especially with rain, wasn't best, but game was working OK!
God of War I also played and was working better than HZD however had some microstuttering...
Spiderman works since day 1 FLUENTLY!
