Update your drivers and game

For optimal performance, make sure you are using the latest drivers for your GPU and ensure your game is up to date. Restart Steam and check the Downloads section to make sure you have the latest version.

Performance Tuning
Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered offers a broad range of settings that can be used to tweak graphical fidelity and performance. These settings are accessible from the menu before starting te game and from the options menu while pausing the game.

DISPLAY MENU

  • Monitor
Select the monitor the game should be displayed on.

  • Window Mode
Switches between Fullscreen, Window Mode and Exclusive Fullscreen.

  • Display Resolution
Changes the display resolution for the game. Keep the selected resolution equal to the resolution of your monitor for the best image quality. Higher resolutions require more GPU power.

  • Refresh rate
Sets the refresh rate used by your display device. Can only be adjusted when using Exclusive Fullscreen.

  • VSYNC
Enabling VSYNC synchronizes the rate at which new frames are delivered to the screen by the game, preventing tearing. The Half Refresh Rate option limits the frame rate to half the refresh rate, to allow for a more consistent frame rate in situations where the full refresh rate can not consistently be reached.

  • Brightness
Change the brightness of the game.

  • HDR
Toggle between displaying the game in HDR or SDR. This option can only be toggled when HDR is already enabled in Windows.

  • HDR Max Luminance
Adjust the maximum luminance produced by the game in HDR mode. Measured in nits.

  • Anti-Aliasing
Techniques to smooth out geometry edges. The default setting is TAA, or Temporal anti-aliasing. You can also disable this setting, or choose SMAA.

  • Upscale Method
Allows switching between multiple anti-aliasing and upscaling algorithms. These are used both to provide improved visuals as well as to improve performance. This includes Insomniac Games' Temporal Injection, NVIDIA DLSS, and AMD FSR 2.0. Use the options below to set a quality level, including the ability to set a minimum framerate and automatically adjust quality.

  • Upscale Quality
Select the desired quality mode for the upscaling algorithm. Higher quality options use a higher intermediate rendering resolution, while high performance options use a lower resolution but will allow for higher framerate. Will always be set to Dynamic when a Dynamic Resolution Scaling target is set in the option below.

  • Dynamic Resolution Scaling
OFF, 30, 45, 60, or higher if your screen supports it. Can be used to set a target frame rate which the game will aim to accomplish, by automatically adjusting internal rendering resolution to achieve the best visual quality while maintaining frame rate.

GRAPHICS MENU

  • Preset
Select from a range of pre-defined graphics settings for various levels of performance, with the choice of: Very Low, Low, Medium, High and Very High. This changes the settings below. Higher presets offer better image quality, but require more CPU and GPU power.

  • Texture Quality
Choose between Low, Medium, High and Very High. Higher settings improve the visual quality of textures, but require more video memory.

  • Texture Filtering
Select between Trilinear, 2x, 4x, 8x, 16x Anisotropic. Higher quality filtering improves texture quality when viewing at an angle, lower quality can improve GPU performance.

  • Shadow Quality
Select between Very Low, Low, Medium, High, Very High. Higher quality adds more detail to the shadows, lower quality reduces the cost on the GPU.

  • Ambient Occlusion
Darkens creases and corners in the game in order to add depth. Choose between Off, SSAO and HBAO+.

  • Screen Space Reflections
Enable or disable screen space reflections.

    Ray-tracing Settings
Ray-tracing is available on compatible hardware. Enabling ray-tracing has a big impact on both CPU and GPU performance. The combination with upscaling options can improve performance.

  • Ray-traced Reflections
On or Off. Enables the use of raytracing hardware to create realistic real-time reflections that properly represent both off-screen objects and objects that are moving. This can be quite expensive especially at higher settings.

  • Reflection Resolution
Adjusts the number of rays used to render the reflections. The Very High reflection resolution can have a significant impact on frame rate, especially when combined with a high display resolution, and is only recommended on high-end GPUs or at lower display resolutions.

  • Geometry Detail
When set to Very High, geometry like buildings will use higher quality meshes for raytracing, resulting in a much more realistic reflection. Select High for better performance.

  • Object Range
Allows adjusting the range at which objects are considered for raytracing. Lower values can be used to reduce the CPU work needed to prepare for raytracing, and will help avoid the CPU becoming a bottleneck.

    Geometry settings
Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered offers a range of geometry settings, that control the amount and detail of objects visible on screen. Lowering these settings can improve performance in the open world.

  • Level of Detail
Higher quality increases the distance at which objects fade to a lower detail level. Lower quality decreases this distance, improving GPU and CPU performance.

  • Traffic Density
Adjusts the amount of cars driving through the city. Lower values can help reduce CPU bottlenecks. After adjusting it the setting will gradually take effect as you traverse through the city.

  • Crowd Density
Adjusts the number of pedestrians traversing the city. After adjusting it the change will gradually take affect as you keep moving through the city. Lower values can help reduce CPU bottlenecks, as well as allow for faster rendering on the GPU.

  • Hair Quality
Adjust the density and the curvature of characters hair.

  • Weather particle quality
Adjust the quality of the weather particle effects throughout the game.

    Camera Effects
Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered offers a range of camera effects to customize the look of the game. Most of these settings do not have a big impact on performance and can be configured to taste.

  • Depth of Field
Simulates the camera effect of having only a certain part of view in focus.

  • Field of View
Increases or decreases the camera viewing angle by the selected percentage.

  • Motion Blur
Makes movement appear smoother by blurring geometry along the direction it is moving.

  • Film Grain Strength
Controls the amount of film grain that is simulated, to create a film-like distortion effect.

  • Bloom
Allows bright spots on the screen to bleed light onto their surrounding area.

  • Vignette
Enables the Vignette effect which darkens the image towards the edges of the screen to simulate camera lens behavior.

  • Chromatic Aberration
Enables Chromatic Aberration, which simulates real-world lens distortion effects.

  • Lens Flares
Enable to allow bright lights to create internal reflection and scattering artifacts as if viewed through a camera lens.

There is something weird happening to me. First day I installed and played, all perfectly smooth, I was going to play today and main menu is smooth, but when I hit "continue" the game loads and suddenly it goes at 15fps or so, wtf, I dunno how to fix this, I'm like 2 hours trying

I tried to play Death Stranding to test if it was my pc but it plays flawlessly

This game refuses to actually USE my CPU and GPU. On the main menu, I'm getting fps around 115-120 and GPU utilization is at 40% or so. Once I load into the city, GPU utilization goes down to around 5-8%, it WILL NOT go up, and the fps MAXES at 12 fps when looking down the street. I tried going to normal high settings and only got 5-8 fps. I tied lowering to the absolute lowest settings the game allows on every setting, still only 5-8 fps. I tried changing from 1080p (on lowest settings) down to 720p and still only got 5-8 fps.

When I raise the settings all back to high, going back to 1080p (with DLSS), and turn on ray tracing (high) it still stays around 5-8 fps.

I have a 2070 and an i7 9000 series CPU on Windows 11. Doom Eternal runs MAXED even with ray tracing at 1080p over 100 fps at nearly all times. Monster Hunter Rise goes between 70-100 fps at max settings. Even Control with ray tracing and DLSS always remains at 60 fps for me. This game refuses to use my CPU and GPU. Once I load into the city the CPU and GPU utilization always remain in single digits at all times, even when this isn't the case on the main menu!

I don't know what's going on with this game, but whatever this crap is needs to get fixed. This is ridiculous. My other games don't have this problem, and since my setup is above even the recommended specs, I KNOW it should be able to run just fine, but something is stopping the game code from using the resources on my computer like it's supposed to. I never even had this kind of problems with Batman Arkham Knight, and that game was notoriously a gigantic mess. It runs flawlessly for me, but yet this game, barely does anything.

Hi, i seem to have a problem with my game and i didn't see anyone mentionning those kind of bugs.
In game, i don't have any FPS drop, the game seems fluid for the poor time i was able to play it, but here's my prob:
I got flashing lights everywhere, triangles, black, white or colored, colored rays... my screen goes wild, and that without altering the performance of the game itself, i can freely fight behind those without latences.

I don't know how to fix it to be honest, if anyone could help that'd be awesome.
My configuration (lowering the graphism to min doesn't fix anything):

16GO ram
AMD RADEON 6800XT
AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 6-Core 3.70 GHz
Windows 11 pro

If it's just this game when this happens, clear your Direct X cache. Elden Ring did this to me and clearing cache worked.

Try disable ray tracing and DLSS and try high or very high settings (and turn stuff like density to low). If your GPU utilization is still so low then then there's definitely a problem. Also make sure you update your GPU driver if you haven't already

I did all this crap already. Changing settings from highest to lowest makes no difference. I even put all settings on lowest with Ray tracing off AND lowered the game to 720p. Same 5-8 fps. The devs have to fix this crap. I don't know what the deal is, but this is up to them at this point. This is not an issue on my end.

You're not supposed to turn your settings to low and lower your resolution because this game is heavily CPU bound. Using low settings + resolution makes it much worse so your best bet should be trying out a higher resolution than 1080p (if you only have a 1080p monitor check out DSR & DLDSR in the Nvidia driver)
Nomad 2022 年 8 月 24 日 下午 2:22
Sad to say this game crashes on me almost every time, something about video memory being at over capacity, don't matter if i change the settings, still even if it would help, i dont want to play this game at lower graphical settings that i would like, and i know my pc can handle (playing currently Ghostwire Tokyo at 4k with rtx on at 75 fps) sooo... it would seem that we need a major fix for the game.

I know how to check stuff regarding CPU and GPU performance. It doesn't matter the resolution or the settings. The framerate stays the same. 5-8 fps. The metrics on my computer say the game ISN'T using my CPU or my GPU. When I'm on the main menu, it is at 40 some percent GPU utilization. Obviously it's not really testing the CPU at that point because it's just Spider-man hanging on a pole, but once into the game world, GPU utilization goes to single digits, as does CPU utilization. Neither will go above that at this point.

Literally no other game on my system has this problem. I have Control (with DLSS and ray tracing on) on here, I've played Doom Eternal (WITH ray tracing), I've got Deathloop, Far Cry 5, I've played Boneworks and Half-Life Alyx on this system and NONE of them have this issue. It is ONLY this game with this problem.

damn, the game doesn't hold a steady 60 fps on RX 6700XT and Ryzen 7 5800x 16 GB ram

there are always drops swinging around the city, and looking from high places also has fps drops.

fix this damn game

correct fps drops and low performance.

looking from high places has a lot of fps drops and swinging around the city.

This game is not holding 60 fps.
I have RX 6700XT
R7 5800x
16 GB storage

there are always fps drops in tall buildings looking at the ground or swinging around the city. regardless of the graphics configuration I use.

fix it
